These cooling paddles are a great way to rapidly cool soups and other foods that can't go into a blast chiller and is specifically designed to fit perfectly in hotel style pans. Their smooth exterior makes it easy to remove foods to reduce waste, while also ensuring the paddles are easy to clean and sanitize. For best results, do not use in temperatures greater than 195 degrees Fahrenheit or less than -20 degrees Fahrenheit. To preserve the life of your paddles, fill with ice and water and use immediately. It is recommended to fill the units entirely with ice, then add cold water at or below the max fill line to fill in the voids around the ice cubes. If you want to freeze your paddles ahead of time, fill the paddles with water at or below the max fill line, and NEVER exceed the line. Place the paddles in the freezer on their sides to allow for optimal space for the water to expand. Once frozen using either method, the product can be used to bring the food temperature through the temperature danger zone (41 degrees F - 135 degrees F).

How to Use
Easily fill the wide mouths with ice and water. Then, place the paddles in your piping hot foods while stirring for 3-5 minutes to rapidly bring them out of the temperature danger zone. Refrigerate your foods with the paddles inside and check the temperature every 20 minutes with a thermometer. Once cooled to 41 degrees Fahrenheit, remove the paddles and store your foods until ready for service. To avoid spills and messes, you can use a food safe plastic bag with this paddle while storing it or chilling it in the fridge. Do not fill product past the max fill line as this has been proven to cause cracking.
Preferred Fill Method
It is recommended to fill the paddles with ice and water and use them immediately. To do this, fill the paddles with ice all the way to the top and then fill with water at or below the max fill line. When using this method, avoid putting the paddles in the freezer. This quick, convenient method allows for fast filling and immediate use of the paddles, eliminating the need to wait for the paddles to freeze. The paddles' wide mouth design makes it easy to fill with ice and water.
Freezer Fill Method
Users also have the option to fill the paddles with water only, and then freeze them. To use this method, fill the paddles with water at or below the max fill line. You should never exceed this line. Then, freeze the paddles on their sides to allow for enough expansion into the neck of the paddles. Allow 24 hours for the paddles to become completely frozen. Please note that the water and ice method is preferred, as this method will shorten the life of the paddle.

The size and shape of these are extremely convenient for us as we have a very small walk-in. However, the kitchen has blasted through so many of these in the first few months of being open. At first I thought they were getting over filled with water before going into the freezer, but they actually just crack so easily on the bottom. Despite following the care instructions the bottom seam cracks without much effort. Not worth it for the price. I would recommend not filling them as full and pray to the ice paddle gods that they will last longer than a couple of weeks.

These do seem to break a little too easily. I highly recommend filling below the recommended line or using ice cubes with water. Ice expands a lot and pushes on the neck and bottom of the container a lot. It’s too easily broken due to that ice expansion. basically aim to fill it a bit below their recommended fill line and it will likely last longer. Definitely don’t try to be at the fill line. Still not a bad product just needs more caution around it.
