For traditional espresso machines, insert the blind filter and add 1 tablet. Insert the portafilter into the grouphead. Activate the brew cycle for 10 seconds, then stop 10 seconds. Repeat 5 times. Remove the portafilter and activate the brew cycle. Rinse the portafilter in a stream of water from the grouphead, then stop the cycle. To clear the grouphead of remaining cleaner, activate the brew cycle for 10 seconds without any cleaner, then stop 10 seconds. Repeat 5 times. Make and discard a shot of espresso.
For superautos, locate and initiate the cleaning cycle on the machine. Add the specified quantity of the tablet that is recommended by the manufacturer. Follow any further instructions provided by the machine manufacturer.
For batch brewers and servers, empty coffee from the equipment and place 2 tablets per liter of brewer capacity directly into the brew basket. Run a full brew cycle into each vessel, then hold for 30 minutes. Rinse with clean, hot water.
To soak parts and accessories, create a soaking solution using 4 tablets for every liter of hot water. Place the dirty part in the cleaning solution. If soaking a portafilter, do not submerge the handle. Allow the part to soak for 30 minutes. Remove the part and rinse with fresh water.
