Polar Temp VT400ADP Details
Thanks to its low profile design, this Polar Temp VT400ADP 40 cubic foot slant front outdoor ice merchandiser gives your customers a clear view of window signs or merchandise displays in your store front. Three inches of thick, foamed in place CFC-free polyurethane insulation in its floor and ceiling, and two inches in its sidewalls make the Polar Temp VT400ADP the best insulated outdoor ice merchandiser in the industry!
Its two, self-closing aluminum doors feature magnetic gaskets that lock in the merchandiser's temperature and ensure customers at your convenience store, beer distributor, or super market never get a melting bag of ice.
The outdoor ice merchandiser's forced air cooling system has a 1/4 hp compressor and uses eco-friendly R-290 refrigerant to maintain proper cabinet temperatures.
A heavy-duty white polyester finish protects the Polar Temp VT400ADP slant front outdoor ice merchandiser against years of abuse under the harshest conditions.

Can I use an extension cord to power my ice merchandiser?
No. Ice merchandisers must be directly connected to the power source of designated voltage.
I haven’t heard of R-290, R-600a, R-513a, or R-448A refrigerant before. What is it?
R-290 (also known as high purity propane or CARE 40) and R-600a (also known as refrigerant grade Isobutane or CARE 10) are hydrocarbon refrigerants. R513a (also known as Opteon XP10) and R-448A (also known as Solstice N40) are HFO (hydrofluoroolefin) refrigerants. They are being used by some manufacturers in response to the EPA’s Significant New Alternatives Policy (SNAP) Program.
What is the difference between cold wall refrigeration and auto defrost refrigeration?
The biggest difference between cold wall and auto defrost refrigeration is the amount of condensation created during the cooling process.
In a cold wall refrigeration system, or coil cooled system, a series of copper wires runs through the walls of the merchandiser. These copper wires radiate cold air into the cabinet in order to keep the ice cold. This causes condensation to occur on the walls of cold wall merchandisers, meaning they will need to be defrosted and cleaned regularly.
In an auto defrost refrigeration system, or forced air system, cold air is pumped into the cabinet using fans, which keeps your ice cold. This type of refrigeration system cuts down on the amount of condensation that forms inside the merchandiser, and the condensation that does form in the unit is removed by an automatic condensation evaporator system.
This item is currently not functional as we await local HVAC company working with Polar Temp to repair a bad seal on the condenser unit area.
Water is leaking into this area during the defrost cycle rusting and dripping on our ice. Not able to use until repairs have been made. Polar temp has been responsive to my phone calls. Still frustrating to have a $ 2000 paperweight until repairs are made. We have a smaller merchandiser which can handle our needs until this one is repaired.
We appreciate your review, Norman! We are sorry this ice merchandiser started to leak. If you have any other questions after the repairs are made, please contact our Customer Solutions team.
