Keep your freshest fruits, vegetables, and sauces preserved with the regular mouth lid for Choice canning / mason jars. This lid can tightly seal your regular mouth canning jars to preserve the contents against contamination. To prepare your lid for sealing, place it in a pot and cover it with water. Bring the water to a simmer (180 degrees Fahrenheit / 80 degrees Celsius) for 10 minutes before using which will to activate the sealing compound.
When heated during the canning process, the soft sealing material on the underside of the lid seals in freshness and prevents oxygen and bacteria from entering the jar. Pair with a compatible band (sold separately) to help keep the lid securely in place. However, the lid's soft sealing functionality is single-use only.

I would definitely buy these lids again. At such a low price, I was concerned that I would have trouble with the sealing, but I got 108 goods seals out of 108 jars. You do have to be careful putting them in place, because they don't don't seem to "self-center" as well as name brands (the only reason I didn't give them 5 stars) but otherwise they're just fine.
DO NOT buy the matching "Choice" brand bands / rings, though. They are TERRIBLE for getting cross-threaded (not something you want to have to deal with while you have a couple dozen hot jars waiting to be filled.) I ended up throwing away about 1 out of every 8, because I simply couldn't get them to screw on. BEWARE.

Choice brand canning jar lids are a Made in China alternative to US brand canning jar lids that are in VERY short supply. I've tried other Chinese canning jar lids and they cut my fingers like a razor blade; these have not yet. One slight drawback using these lids is that you cannot make them as "finger-tight" as the US canning jar lids, they will bulge. So when you tighten them up finger-tight, back off just a tad on the tightness. It appears that the metal is of a different thickness and can easily bulge.
